The Roastery

Behind every coffee shop, there is a main component that sets its importance above the rest. If you guessed “beans”, you’d be right! But, how do fresh, green beans from across the world become the 6 a.m. energy you snag on the way to work?

Enter, “The Roastery”!

In the Summer of 2021, Amy and her team expanded their humble store even further by replacing what was a rentable workspace and creating a stunning view of their newest team member, a Diedrich 5 Kilo roaster. But, they prefer to call her “Gerty”.

“Our hope is to bring fair trade, direct origin, and high quality sourced coffee from around the world.” That’s directly from Jacob, Gerty’s partner-in-coffee and Head Roaster. The partnerships they’ve created with farming families around the world directly impact their quality of life, giving back for every cent brought through the doors of Nexus.

Mexican. Ethiopian. Burundian. Brazilian. The Lighthouse Blend. These roasts are what Amy hopes will soon reach communities near and far in the coming months. With wholesale avenues in order to work alongside businesses, companies, and other coffee shops within 5 miles, and plans to launch a coffee subscription box later this Fall, things are heating up for the Nexus crew.

“We want our community and customers to experience the impact and education of working with farming families from different countries, so we’re honored to launch the Roastery alongside our future programs this Fall.”

So stop in, give ‘Gerty’ a wave, and enjoy your freshly roasted coffee!
